What makes this app different?
- Designed for busy lifestyles
- Easy to use
- Practical hydration philosophy
- Helps you learn a new health habit

Got Water helps you remember to drink water. At most, the body can effectively absorb and use one 8oz glass of water every 15 minutes. Got Water introduces a gentle alert when your body is ready for more water.

It is more valuable to your health to learn the habit of drinking a little water often than track how much you drink all day.

Why?

Consider the following Key Hydration Facts:

1. When you gulp water quickly, your body cannot absorb it well. Instead of the buzz of steady hydration, you just get more bathroom breaks.

2. The absolute most water your body can absorb and use at one time is roughly 200mL - one small 8 oz glass - every 15 minutes (or 32 oz in an hour).

If you remember to drink water in small amounts more frequently the result is less worry about over-hydration and fewer bathroom interruptions since your body is less likely to pass water that you add slowly over time.

Our recommendation is a moderate plan and quite safe - while still being vigorous enough for you to feel the power of hydration.

The Goal:

Drink in ounces half your bodyweight per day. For example, if you weigh 200lbs, your daily goal would be 100 oz of water per day. Be approximate - you are not over-hydrating unless you doubled or tripled that amount in a short time.

Calculating Amounts: If you set and follow a 30-minute reminder, after 15 hours you would have 30 chances to hydrate. Dividing that 100 oz goal from the above example in 30 hydrations means you would really only need to drink just over 3 oz per hydration. If you are able to are able to keep up with the 15-minute reminders, you would be very well hydrated just sipping an ounce or two at each reminder throughout the day.

Avoid getting caught up on the number of ounces. If you want this to work in the long term, stay focused on the rhythm of your new regular hydration habit and keep going!

How Got Water Works

Tap the Begin button to start your reminders. Close the app and let the reminders chime unobtrusively in the background, drawing your attention back to your water to have a sip or two now and then.

Four Modes

E-Z Power Mode
With a 15-minute interval drop-sound reminder, E-Z Power Mode is the best practice for establishing a new hydration habit quickly and reap the health results! Set your reminders with the drop-button and it will run for the next 14 hours. If you are vigilant and take drink a very small amount (1-3 oz) of water every 15 minutes, this is absolutely optimum hydration.

E-Z Mode
By widening the interval to 30-minutes, this mode offers a less frequent reminder for a more relaxed mode of learning, while still being frequent enough to have the hydration experience. Casual mode is a great way to ease into your new hydration lifestyle. Alternately, as you learn to hydrate without the reminders, casual mode can be a great way to wean yourself from needing the app to remember.

Two Tracking Modes
Tracking modes add an extra step - allowing you to count each hydration within the app and reset the reminder fresh each round. The extra accountability that comes with additional step is a helpful learning tool for some. Sport Mode will set a 15-minute base reminder, regular Tracking mode a 30-minute reminder. Tapping the drop button in these modes will count a hydration, then sets one reminder. If you let the reminder run, it will continue to remind you more urgently until you go back into Got Water and tap the drop button again, which counts another hydration and restarts the clock.
